Northeast Metropolitan Community Education offers ten-week evening welding courses for adult learners at Northeast Metro Tech in Wakefield. Welding Basic introduces Stick, TIG, MIG, oxyacetylene welding, flame cutting and plasma cutting through theory and shop demonstrations. Welding Advanced uses projects and simulated job situations for additional practice, while a separate AWS D1.1 preparatory course focuses on certification-test preparation. Students provide their own helmet, safety glasses and gloves; published course prices include instructional materials.
