Northern Maine Community College offers a 32-credit Structural Welding certificate at its Presque Isle campus. The two-semester curriculum combines print reading, technical mathematics and industrial safety with sequential shop courses in introductory and electric welding, structural SMAW, open-root welding, flux-core welding and plasma-table operations. Students receive hands-on structural and fabrication training and prepare for the American Welding Society D1-SM-F4-P-A-L structural welding qualification test.
