Oakton College's 15-credit Welding Technician Certificate combines introductory and advanced welding labs with manufacturing, industrial drafting and workplace-safety coursework. The welding sequence covers oxyfuel welding, Stick, MIG, TIG and Flux-Core processes on materials of different thicknesses. Both welding courses follow American Welding Society industrial standards and explicitly prepare students for the AWS welding certification test.
