Passaic County Community College offers a hands-on Welding Certificate of Achievement at its trades facility on the Paterson Main Campus. Current official sources document SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW, oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting, CNC plasma programming and operation, fabrication, layouts and progressive fundamental through advanced welding instruction. PCCC is an American Welding Society Educational Institution Member, and the credit certificate may be incorporated into an A.A.S. in Technical Studies. This hands-on Certificate of Achievement develops the science, technology and applied skills used in welding and metalworking. Current official sources document SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW; oxy-acetylene, plasma and CNC plasma cutting; fabrication and layout; and instruction progressing from fundamentals through intermediate and advanced welding. Classes are held in PCCC's trades-training facility at 113 Van Houten Street on the Paterson Main Campus. The program may be incorporated into an A.A.S. in Technical Studies.

It covers GMAW, SMAW, FCAW and GTAW applications; fabrication; thermal, oxyfuel and plasma cutting; metallurgy, rigging, grinding and forming; and five video-based simulation labs, including GMAW and SMAW. Students receive up to 12 months of access and earn a Certificate of Completion. The official page explicitly states that the course does not prepare students for a certification.
