Ridgewater College offers a tiered welding pathway spanning a 16-credit entry certificate, 32- to 64-credit diplomas, a 72-credit associate degree, and related weld-inspection credentials. Welding students train in MIG, TIG, Stick, fabrication, plasma cutting, robotic welding, metal forming, and plate, structural, and pipe applications through extensive shop work. The college also combines welding with radiographic, ultrasonic, phased-array, liquid-penetrant, and magnetic-particle testing. Pure welding awards are offered in Willmar, while Hutchinson provides the one-year welding diploma, certificates, and the welding/nondestructive-testing pathway.
