Rosedale Technical College offers a 36-credit Welding Technician diploma through in-person day and evening schedules at its Pittsburgh campus. The program combines theory and shop practice in Stick, MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, pipe and nonferrous welding, fabrication, and multiple thermal-cutting methods. Students practice welding in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions, work with filler metals and material properties, and complete coursework in metallurgy, welding inspection and testing, and fabrication. Instruction is based on AWS and API specifications, and students may have opportunities to earn AWS qualifications in various welding techniques.
