Salina Area Technical College offers a nine-month Welding Technology technical certificate and a two-year Associate of Applied Science pathway. The current curriculum combines classroom instruction with hands-on project work for manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, and construction careers. Required welding courses cover Stick, MIG, TIG, core-wire welding, oxyfuel, plasma and carbon-arc cutting, fabrication and production, with additional coverage of oxyacetylene, spot welding, brazing, soldering, and welding theory. Students complete AWS SMAW plate weld tests and also receive preparation in welding drawings, industrial practices, and workplace requirements.

A two-semester technical certificate preparing students for entry-level welding work in manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, and construction. The 37-credit curriculum combines welding theory and shop projects with Stick, MIG, TIG, core-wire welding, oxyfuel, plasma and carbon-arc cutting, and fabrication and production. Course descriptions also document oxyacetylene welding, spot welding, brazing, soldering, and robotic equipment. Students complete AWS SMAW 1G, 2G, and 3G plate weld tests and OSHA-10 and Kansas Work Ready assessments.
