Snead State Community College is a public two-year college based in Boaz, Alabama. Its career-technical Welding Technology pathway includes an Associate in Applied Science degree, a long-term certificate, and two short-term certificates. Official curricula document shop and classroom work in Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, and TIG welding along with cutting, blueprint reading, safety, robotics, welding inspection and testing, and structural concepts. The college says Welding Technology is housed in its 50,000-square-foot Workforce and Career Institute, which opened for classes in fall 2024 and includes classrooms, hands-on labs, and career-training equipment. Dual-enrollment students may take welding classes, and qualified students may pursue paid industry apprenticeships while completing the AAS pathway.
