Southwest Mississippi Community College offers a two-year Welding and Cutting Technology AAS and a one-year technical certificate at its Summit campus. The curriculum covers Stick, MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, pipe welding, aluminum MIG, oxyfuel cutting, plasma cutting, and air-carbon-arc cutting and gouging, with opportunities for state and national certification. The college also offers a current noncredit Structural Fitting workforce course focused on welding, cutting, and fabricating steel components for shipbuilding and related structural trades.
