This 24-credit technical certificate is delivered through instructor-assisted open labs with multiple enrollment opportunities during the year. Students practice shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding as well as oxyfuel welding, cutting and brazing, plasma cutting, and carbon-air-arc cutting. A CASAS assessment or equivalent is required for enrollment. At 15 scheduled hours per week the college estimates about 12 months to completion, while students able to enroll for more hours may finish sooner.
