St. Cloud Technical & Community College offers a 37-credit Welding/Fabrication diploma combining practical and theoretical preparation for welding technicians. Students train in shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc, flux-cored arc, oxyfuel and robotic welding along with brazing, fuel-gas cutting, plasma cutting, structural work and fabrication. Welds are produced in multiple positions to AWS structural-code standards and evaluated with guided bend tests, preparing graduates for fabrication, plant maintenance, structural-steel and related work.
