Suffolk County Community College provides noncredit welding training through the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center at the Michael J. Grant Campus in Brentwood. Offerings include a 180-hour blended welding course centered on shielded metal arc welding to AWS D1.1 structural-steel standards, short introductory MIG/TIG/Stick and TIG courses, and separate AWS 3G/4G certification testing. The main course combines classroom, lab and online learning and also introduces oxyfuel welding and plasma cutting.
