This continuing-education course is designed for experienced welders who can pass a basic skills test. Students work toward one selected AWS D1.1 code option—Stick, MIG, TIG or Flux-Core—and receive guidance on the welding and cutting techniques required by the test procedure. The current catalog says one test is included and successful students are tested by an AWS Certified Welding Inspector and receive a stamped Welding Operator Qualification Test Report; retests and additional processes cost extra.

This continuing-education course is intended for people working in facility maintenance. It introduces welding theory and technique together with procedures used during welding and cutting operations. Each class teaches one welding process; the current official course page says Stick is provided by default unless another process is specifically requested and approved. The page lists 80 contact hours over eight weeks with meetings two days or evenings per week.

This 620-hour career program combines welding theory with hands-on lab work for construction and manufacturing applications. The curriculum covers Stick, MIG, TIG, Flux-Core and pipe welding; oxygen-acetylene torch setup, preheating and steel cutting; welding symbols; and shop fundamentals. After completion, students are evaluated in Stick by an independent AWS Certified Welding Inspector under the current AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code–Steel. Students who meet the code requirements receive a signed and stamped Welding Operator Qualification Test Report.
