Claim This SchoolThe Steel Yard is a nonprofit industrial arts center, shared studio and nontraditional craft school in Providence. Its Workforce Welding program is a paid, 32-hour job-readiness intensive for Rhode Island residents covering MIG welding, plasma cutting, oxyacetylene-torch work and metal fabrication through a functional public-art project. The center also offers recurring beginner welding workshops, including standard MIG, specialized TIG and Stick sessions. These public workshops are noncredit and do not lead to certification.
