Trinidad State College offers Welding Technology at both its Trinidad and Valley campuses through a 62-credit Associate of Applied Science and a 38-credit certificate. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on project-based learning for welding construction and fabrication. Current curriculum documents oxyacetylene joining, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, structural welding, MIG, TIG, Flux-Core and pipe welding. The certificate completes the two welding-intensive semesters and stacks into the degree, while the associate program adds general education and career-supporting coursework. This four-semester, 62-credit associate degree begins with two welding-intensive semesters covering oxyacetylene joining, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, structural welding, MIG, TIG, Flux-Core and pipe welding. The remaining semesters add English, mathematics, communication, liberal-arts and selected business or technical coursework. Hands-on project-based learning prepares students for welding construction and fabrication, and instruction is delivered by NCCER-certified faculty.
