This 31-credit certificate is sequenced across two semesters. Students study welding theory and metallurgy, practice first in VRTEX 360 simulation and then in a live shop, and complete welding labs plus supporting coursework in welding symbols and print interpretation. Documented processes include MIG with short-circuit and spray transfer, metal-cored arc welding, TIG, Flux-Core, Stick, oxyacetylene and braze welding, oxyacetylene cutting and plasma cutting. Graduates are prepared for manufacturing, maintenance, repair, building and construction work.
