United Tribes Technical College is a private tribal land-grant college in Bismarck offering a 31-credit Welding Technology certificate designed for completion in two semesters. Students begin with VRTEX 360 simulation and move into a live welding shop while studying welding theory, metallurgy and welding-symbol interpretation. Current official program material documents MIG with short-circuit and spray transfer, metal-cored arc, TIG, Flux-Core, Stick, oxyacetylene and braze welding, plus oxyacetylene and plasma cutting. Graduates are prepared for welding work in manufacturing, maintenance, repair, building and construction. The program includes certification testing fees, and successful completers may be eligible to become AWS Certified.
