Utah Career Center

Utah Career Center is a jointly administered labor-management apprenticeship training center operated with UA Local 140 and the Utah Mechanical Contractors Association. Welding is integrated into its four-year plumbing and pipefitting apprenticeship pathways rather than offered as a separate stand-alone apprenticeship. Apprentices combine daytime classroom and lab instruction with paid on-the-job training, attending school for eight one-week intervals each year. Plumbing apprentices must earn one industry-specific welding certification, while pipefitting apprentices must earn three.
