This one- or two-year secondary CTE program emphasizes hands-on welding. First-year students build all-position Stick welding skills and practice oxyacetylene welding and cutting, weld-joint design and print reading. Students who meet prerequisites can return for a second year focused on MIG, Flux-Core and TIG welding and special fabrication projects. Cutting and gouging are also taught. The program incorporates shop safety and OSHA training and provides AWS structural-welding test opportunities, with a flat-position test in year one and an all-position test in year two.
