Wallace Community College Selma offers separate Structural Welding and Pipe Welding certificate pathways. Students develop hands-on skills through realistic shop exercises for construction, manufacturing, repair, steel fabrication, and heavy-industry work. Current curricula document Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, TIG, pipe welding, oxyfuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, and carbon arc cutting, with supporting study in print reading and applied mathematics. The pipe pathway adds carbon- and stainless-steel pipe theory and laboratories and requires demonstrated plate-welding competence before entry.
