Wallace State Community College — Hanceville Campus

A 65-credit Associate in Applied Science organized across four semesters. Technical coursework includes Stick fillet and groove welding with plasma and carbon arc cutting, MIG and Flux-Core welding, consumable welding applications, TIG structural and groove welding, carbon-steel and aluminum fabrication, industrial print reading, inspection and testing, and a welding certification laboratory. Students train on carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel in a facility with 83 manual booths and advanced Lincoln Electric equipment. The college states that graduates complete at least two AWS qualification tests.

A 55-credit, four-semester certificate using the same technical core as the Welding Technology AAS without the full general-education requirement. Students complete Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, and TIG welding; plasma and carbon arc cutting; carbon-steel and aluminum fabrication; industrial print reading; inspection and testing; and a certification laboratory. Graduates complete at least two AWS qualification tests.

A 12-credit short-term certificate focused on Stick fillet and groove welding and the associated plasma arc and carbon arc cutting methods. The pathway combines theory and laboratory work in structural welding and leads into longer Welding Technology credentials.

A 12-credit short-term certificate combining MIG and Flux-Core welding with consumable-welding applications and industrial print reading. Laboratory work develops equipment setup, process control, and production welding skills.

A 12-credit short-term certificate focused on TIG structural and groove welding, welding inspection and testing, and certification-laboratory practice. The pathway develops qualification-test skills as part of Wallace State's AWS-oriented welding curriculum.

A 61-credit Associate in Applied Science integrating MIG and Flux-Core welding with robotic programming, robotic welding laboratories, sensors, motor controls, programmable logic controllers, welding inspection and testing, and certification-laboratory work. The four-semester pathway is designed for automated-welding technician roles and includes AWS qualification testing.

A 52-credit certificate combining MIG and Flux-Core welding with robotic programming, robotic welding laboratories, sensors, motor controls, PLCs, inspection and testing, and certification-laboratory practice. It follows the technical core of the robotic AAS and includes AWS qualification testing.

A 12-credit introductory robotic-welding credential covering robotic programming, foundational robotic-welding laboratory practice, DC fundamentals, and AC fundamentals. It is the first stackable level in the Robotic Welding Technician pathway.

A 9-credit stackable credential centered on intermediate robotic welding, sensor technology and applications, and programmable-logic-controller fundamentals within the Robotic Welding Technician pathway.

A 12-credit advanced stackable credential combining advanced robotic welding with welding inspection and testing and certification-laboratory practice. It develops automated-welding and qualification-test skills at the final technical level of the robotic pathway.

An in-person workforce course with a different process focus by semester. Fall students receive hands-on Stick welding instruction; spring students train in MIG and Flux-Core welding. The course covers equipment setup, foundational techniques, and hands-on skill development, awards two NC3 certifications, and may qualify participants for prior-learning credit in the Welding Technology program. Applicants must be at least 16; a high school diploma or GED is not required.
