Washburn Institute of Technology, commonly known as Washburn Tech, is a public career and technical education unit administered by Washburn University. Its Welding Technology pathway has stackable Certificate A, B, and C exit points and can continue into a Welding Technology Associate of Applied Science. Technical instruction combines formal and self-paced learning in Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, TIG, oxyfuel cutting, fabrication, print reading, quality assurance and control, and workplace preparation. The program identifies AWS 1F, 1G, and 2F credentials and offers day and evening schedule options at the Huntoon welding campus.
