WTTI's primary career-level diploma for students with little or no welding experience. The 900-hour program develops plate and pipe skills in Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, and TIG welding; oxyacetylene and plasma cutting; pipe fitting; structural layout; and fabrication. Students weld carbon steel in multiple positions, use TIG on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, complete layout/fitting projects, and prepare for performance qualification testing under the AWS Structural Welding Code. The program combines shop projects with theory covering metallurgy, equipment setup, filler selection, joint design, print interpretation, and shop calculations.
