This 67-credit Associate in Applied Science prepares students for welding and fabrication employment through classroom and Harper Campus laboratory work. The curriculum covers Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, and TIG on plate and pipe; cutting; symbols; metallurgy; inspection and certification practices; fabrication; and optional automated and orbital welding. Full-time students can complete the degree in about five semesters. Associate-degree students may take Central Piedmont's continuing-education AWS plate or pipe certification test before graduation at a discounted rate.
