This 46-credit Certificate of Completion uses an intensive hands-on curriculum in Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, and TIG welding, with plate and pipe practice through the 6G position. Students also study oxyacetylene work, pipe layout, blueprints, welding symbols, shop mathematics, cutting and gouging, safety, and the behavior of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and low-alloy metals. Full-time students typically attend during the day and finish in nine months; part-time morning or afternoon study takes about 18 months, with evening skill-development classes also offered at Coffeyville.
