The Associate in Applied Science develops entry-level skills for welding and metalworking through classroom and shop instruction. The current detailed plan includes cutting, industrial safety, Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, TIG, pipe welding, fabrication, welding symbols, machine processes, CAD, and certification practices, along with general education. Students practice equipment setup, welds in multiple positions, drawing and symbol interpretation, inspection-related concepts, and fabrication methods for employment in construction, manufacturing, quality control, and related fields.

The 40-credit diploma follows a four-semester sequence with cutting, Stick plate and pipe, MIG and Flux-Core plate, TIG plate, welding symbols, certification practices, CAD, machine processes, technical math, and writing. It provides a shorter credit pathway combining shop practice with technical and general education courses.

This 15-credit certificate introduces cutting and the principal plate-welding processes through Cutting Processes, Stick Plate, MIG/Flux-Core Plate, and TIG Plate. Coursework emphasizes safe equipment setup and hands-on fillet and groove welds in multiple positions.

This 13-credit certificate advances Stick welding on plate and pipe and adds welding symbols and specifications, Fabrication I, and Certification Practices. Students develop joint preparation, position-welding, layout, fabrication, code interpretation, and performance-coupon skills.

This 14-credit certificate concentrates on safe fabrication work through Industrial Safety, Cutting Processes, Symbols and Specifications, Fabrication I, and Fabrication II. Students practice measurement, layout, cutting, assembly, material handling, and fabrication from working drawings.

This 16-credit certificate develops advanced plate and pipe skills through Stick plate/pipe, MIG plate/pipe, TIG plate/pipe, welding symbols and specifications, and advanced TIG pipe work. Training emphasizes fit-up, joint geometry, multiple welding positions, and welds made to applicable codes.

This 362.5-hour workforce course covers general safety, welding hazards, oxyfuel, plasma-arc and air-carbon-arc cutting, base metals, joint design, quality workmanship, welding codes, Stick welding, and electrode selection. Successful students earn NCCER Welding Level 1 certification.

This 590-hour workforce course combines NCCER Levels 1 and 2. Topics include safety, blueprint reading, construction math, material handling, oxyfuel, plasma and air-carbon-arc cutting, base-metal preparation, weld quality, Stick beads, fillet and groove welds, joint fit-up, symbols, metal properties, heat treatment, and MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core setup and practice. Successful students earn both NCCER Welding Level 1 and Level 2 certifications.

This 227.5-hour workforce course covers welding symbols and detail drawings, metal properties, preheating and post-heating, filler metals and gases, and setup for MIG, Flux-Core, and TIG. Students must pass written exams with at least 70 percent and complete all performance evaluations to earn NCCER Welding Level 2 certification.

This 470-hour workforce course advances MIG, Flux-Core, TIG, and Stick skills on plate and pipe. Topics include equipment and filler metals, Flux-Core pipe, TIG pipe including low-alloy and stainless steel, and Stick open-root pipe welds. Instruction combines lecture, demonstration, and practical application, leading to NCCER Welding Level 3 certification.

This 172.5-hour workforce course provides classroom and hands-on training in MIG aluminum plate and pipe, TIG aluminum plate and pipe, soldering, and brazing. Students learn through lecture, demonstration, and practical application and earn NCCER Welding Level 4 certification after successful completion.
