The Associate in Applied Science develops entry-level skills for welding and metalworking through classroom and shop instruction. The current detailed plan includes cutting, industrial safety, Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, TIG, pipe welding, fabrication, welding symbols, machine processes, CAD, and certification practices, along with general education. Students practice equipment setup, welds in multiple positions, drawing and symbol interpretation, inspection-related concepts, and fabrication methods for employment in construction, manufacturing, quality control, and related fields.
