Fayetteville Technical Community College offers a three-semester Welding Diploma and a two-semester Basic Welding Technology Certificate through its Welding Technology program. Instruction includes welding safety and blueprint reading along with SMAW/Stick, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, robotic MIG, plasma cutting, and CNC plasma work; the diploma curriculum also covers pipe welding, fabrication, inspection, and flux-cored welding. A separate structural-welding continuing-education course is offered at the Spring Lake Campus. The college states that its curriculum is designed to meet North Carolina educational requirements for the AWS Certified Welder credential.
