Gateway Technical College is a public member of the Wisconsin Technical College System serving southeastern Wisconsin. Its welding pathway includes a 16-credit Welding/Maintenance & Fabrication technical diploma and a 43-credit Welding technical diploma. Students receive hands-on instruction in individual welding booths, print reading, layout, fabrication, thermal cutting and multiple arc-welding processes. This 43-credit technical diploma develops welding skills through hands-on projects, blueprint interpretation, layout and fabrication practice. Official materials document MIG, TIG and Stick welding, thermal cutting, pipe and structural applications, and advanced welding practice.
