Jefferson State Community College offers a stackable Welding Technology pathway consisting of an 18-credit short certificate, a 30-credit certificate and a 64-credit Associate in Applied Science. Curriculum begins with welding and metal cutting, Stick, MIG/Flux-Core and inspection work; the certificate adds Flux-Core and robotic welding, while the AAS adds TIG, boiler-tube work, fabrication blueprint reading and certification laboratories. The college uses NCCER welding curriculum aligned with AWS SENSE entry-level guidelines and states that students can obtain AWS welding certification after completing the program. A separate noncredit Fast Track course provides lecture and practical training in oxy-fuel cutting and Stick welding.
