A 16-month certificate with hands-on welding and cutting instruction on multiple metals. Training includes oxyfuel cutting, MIG, Stick, Flux-Core and TIG, other thermal and mechanical cutting methods, and AWS welding-symbol applications. MTECH states that roughly 85 percent of the program is shop work and 15 percent is theory/classroom study; students can earn AWS Level I process certificates and D1.1 structural-steel qualifications.
