Navajo Technical University is a public tribal university chartered by the Navajo Nation. Its 37-credit Welding Technology certificate combines hands-on plate, pipe and structural welding with welding theory, blueprint reading, symbols, inspection, destructive and nondestructive testing, metallurgy, computer-aided drafting and machine-tool operations. Current coursework documents oxyacetylene welding and thermal cutting, Stick, TIG and MIG, plus plasma-arc and air-carbon-arc cutting.
