The 60-61 credit AAS combines four semesters of welding and fabrication courses with general education. Students begin with basic stick welding, oxyfuel/plasma cutting and blueprint reading, then progress through fabrication, inert-gas welding, advanced stick, Welding I and II, advanced gas welding and advanced procedures. The program emphasizes steel pipe welding in 2G, 3G, 5G and 6G positions using MIG and TIG; current learning outcomes also document flux-core proficiency and AWS certification preparation.
