A locally advertised two-year Associate in Applied Science combining general education with welding theory, shop practice, welding certification work, blueprint interpretation, and a practicum or cooperative experience. The current KCTCS curriculum requires Stick, TIG, and MIG, plus either oxyfuel systems or a broader cutting sequence that can include oxyfuel, plasma, exothermic, air-carbon-arc, and shielded-metal-arc cutting. Approved technical electives support Flux-Core, pipe, submerged-arc, orbital-tube, and automated welding.

A 48-55 credit diploma combining general education with Stick, TIG, MIG, welding-certification coursework, practicum or cooperative experience, and either oxyfuel systems or a multi-process cutting sequence. Technical electives allow further process specialization.

A five-credit certificate in industrial cutting theory and laboratory practice, including oxyfuel, plasma-arc, exothermic, air-carbon-arc, shielded-metal-arc, and mechanical cutting methods.

A 15-18 credit MIG certificate combining gas-metal-arc theory and fillet/groove labs with blueprint coursework and either oxyfuel systems or broader industrial cutting processes; a Flux-Core lab may substitute for one groove-lab option.

A 17-18 credit TIG certificate covering gas-tungsten-arc theory, fillet and groove labs, blueprint coursework, and either oxyfuel systems or a multi-process industrial cutting sequence.

A 25-30 credit pipeline certificate combining MIG plate and pipe work, blueprint instruction, welding-certification courses, and either oxyfuel systems or broader industrial cutting processes; approved electives can extend pipe practice.

A 14-19 credit MIG automation certificate combining gas-metal-arc theory and lab practice, blueprint coursework, and a variable-credit welding-automation laboratory.

A 36-37 credit entry-welder certificate covering Stick, TIG, and MIG in theory, fillet, and groove laboratories, together with blueprint coursework and either oxyfuel systems or multi-process industrial cutting. AWS identifies SENSE Level I as its modular Entry Welder training and certificate program with knowledge and performance evaluations.
