This associate degree develops entry-level welding skill through theory and hands-on application. Its 73-credit model schedule covers Oxyfuel Welding and related cutting processes, Shielded Metal Arc, Gas Metal Arc, Gas Tungsten Arc and Flux-Cored Arc welding, pipe welding, metallurgy and special welding processes. Students work with carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel and study weld testing, blueprint interpretation and CAD as supporting curriculum topics.
