A 67–69-credit Associate in Applied Science covering welding science and applications through classroom and intensive shop instruction. Required welding work includes cutting processes, Stick plate and pipe, MIG and Flux-Core plate, TIG plate and pipe, inert-gas welding, fabrication, MIG plate and pipe, certification practices, and inspection and testing. Supporting study includes print reading, welding symbols and specifications, metallurgy-related concepts, industrial safety, technical writing, and work-based learning options. Graduates are prepared for entry-level work in welding, metalworking, construction, manufacturing, fabrication, quality control, supervision, sales, or self-employment.
