Choosing where to train around Charlotte
For Central Piedmont's welding AAS, plan around Harper Campus on West Hebron Street. The Central Campus is not substituted for Harper. This pilot includes the AAS explicitly tied to Harper by the current pathway page; see the profile for other recorded programs.
The Mooresville options offer a different comparison: UTI's Welding Technology program and PIT Weld U's individual courses. Check prerequisites before choosing an advanced or follow-on course.
PIT identifies its welding shop at 133 Byers Creek Road, Suite C. Its separate main-building print-reading class is not another welding-school choice here. Test the actual trip to Mooresville at your intended class time; straight-line miles are not commute estimates.
Sources, costs and coverage
Location and program sources checked 2026-10-01. Inclusion requires a reviewed teaching address, general admissions rather than restricted enrollment, and a currently public program-campus record explicitly marked available. General admissions still has entry requirements; this is not a promise of an open seat or a current start date.
City membership uses Census municipal geography at the reviewed address, not a school name or postal city. Nearby options are manually selected within 35 straight-line miles of the Census city reference point. Approximate address-range coordinates are not surveyed classroom entrances. Source links are in each listing.
1 of the 8 programs shown have listed numeric prices. Credentials, duration and cost come from school-level program records associated with these campuses; they are not independently verified campus-specific totals. Missing values stay “Not listed.” Credit hours, training hours and calendar weeks are not interchangeable.
This is a selected comparison, not a comprehensive inventory or endorsement. Additional programs and campuses remain in the state directory while local evidence is reviewed. No missing or unknown availability has been treated as confirmed.
